Default A Little Photoshop Magic

Hiya just happened to be tinkering with my screenshots for my Desktop and I found one I liked on a little Island in Fisherman's Haven.

Obviously I would be the Female Necro with the purple armor.

Just was experimenting. Might do more if they're good enough..

*sigh*

If ONLY there was night/day changes in this game, we'd actually see beautiful things like that.

Neat image as a whole.

Nice cut-out job, but shouldn't it be dark as well? Also, the stars are too uniform, large and blurred.

Keep working on it, it's got potential.

I like the night pic waaaay better than the normal one. Some reason it just seems more Necro-ish to me.

Anyway, nice job. I want more!

Might also be worth smacking on a layer of 30-50% opacity black or dark color for that nighttime veil effect The shadows on the beach seem a tad off.

Sexy sky though. I wish there were a map in GW that was in the sky :3

I agree. Making the water darker and shading out the characters would give a nice, more nightlike effect.

slap a darkness/contrast adjustment layer linked to the original on it, cut out the characters and use a drop shadow, maybe use a real sky as a start to get the distribution of stars looking "right", maybe add a campfire that casts a glow upon the characters/surroundings

hell, i might even do all this myself when i have time

last thing i did with Photoshop involving GW was this :

Awesome, but the map as a whole doesn't look any darker.

Thanks for the replies.

Again this was just a small experiment. Nothing to be a big project. Just to tink with backgrounds than to have it a whole night effect I'll mess with it more to get the real feel. I know the whole shadow thing is kinda off.. x.x;

Still kinda learning photoshop haven't messed with it for a long time. (kinda don't know all the tools yet)

Wow that is something. Gives me all sorts of ideas, like the area right BEFORE the Char Flame Corridor? All that tar? Why not make it Murtle Beach?

Lovely work

there's still something wrong with the campfire and i didn't cut out the 2 figures so wasn't able to render some "campfire lighting" on their faces, but for a 10 min job this might give you some idea of what i was talking about ...

Honestly the campfire I dislike the idea.. it doesn't need it. Plus I rather keep the light away from the picture (where the sun is where the moon is now.)

Plus I rather not make it so dark that you basically can't see the faces.. I know it's just a gist of it but I rather my own way.

Try to make anything that's fictional in the first place real makes it look even more fictional/fake than it should.

The day sky already looks like it belongs in a game so I rather make sky that's just the same.

I shaded the darker areas and shadows as well as adding a viel of night upon it.

It seems there's more light because it's a clear night with the moon positioned upon them.

Wow...If it turned into night in the game, then we'd get pyromancer fireworks shows. Cool...

I think if actual daytime etc were implented the game engine would crash.
Mainly because it would have to render light. Say 4 magic casters cast something close to eachother you'd get a massive light surge of the crap their casting. I dont think the engine is build for that.
